What is Bai Dinh Pagoda?
Bai Dinh Pagoda is two places on one mountain in Ninh Binh: a vast Buddhist complex built from 2003, and a small old pagoda founded in the twelfth century in the caves above it. It lies about 20 km from Ninh Binh city and 100 km from Hanoi, and seeing both takes about three hours. A local guide explains who the statues are and what people here pray for.

Questions people ask before booking
Is Bai Dinh Pagoda worth visiting?
If scale and living religion interest you, yes. If you came to Ninh Binh only for rivers and limestone, you may prefer a day on the boats. Our half day adds the old capital at Hoa Lu, so you see the site of a thousand-year-old capital as well as something new.
How much walking and climbing is there?
The electric car covers the first 3.5 km, but the halls climb the hillside by long corridors and stairs, and the old pagoda is more than 300 stone steps up. Your guide can leave the old pagoda out and set an easy pace through the new complex.
What exactly is included in the price?
Private car with driver, a licensed local guide who speaks fluent English, hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere in Ninh Binh or central Hanoi, the electric car, the tower ticket and all entrance fees, and any meals listed on each tour. The only things not included are personal shopping, temple donations and optional tips.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes — free cancellation up to 3 days before departure for a full refund, and free rescheduling subject to availability. Within 3 days of departure, 30% of the tour price is charged because the car and guide are already committed.
Can the tour be tailored for children, older parents or our own interests?
Yes — every itinerary can be adjusted. Tell us who is travelling and what you enjoy, and we will change the stops and the pace to suit. The long stairs in the upper halls and the steps to the old pagoda can both be left out.
How do I pay, and when?
Two ways: pay the full price online by card, or pay a 30% deposit online and the rest in cash on the day of the tour, in US dollars or Vietnamese dong. We can also send a secure payment link on WhatsApp. The booking is confirmed once the online payment goes through, and your pickup time and guide details follow by WhatsApp.
How far ahead should I book?
A few days is comfortable in the busy months from February to April; at quieter times next-day requests often work. Message us and we will tell you honestly what is still open.
